Sherborn Extended Day is seeking a creative, energetic and team-oriented Assistant Teacher to work with K-5th grade children at Pine Hill School’s after school program. This involves a blend of supervision and active involvement with the children in all aspects of their day as well as classroom set up, clean up and planning activities with other team members. Our program follows the school calendar and operates until 6:00 p.m. every day school is in session.
Salary: $14.05 per hour
Approximately 19 hours per week

The desired candidate must exhibit the following requirements:

Valid licensure through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for School Counseling grades 5-12

Master's degree in School Counseling

Demonstrated experience in public schools as a middle school counselor

Strong knowledge base of adolescent growth and development
-
Strong knowledge base of the Massachusetts Model for School Counseling and working experience with a developmental guidance curriculum
-
Strong knowledge base in counseling middle school-aged children
-
Demonstrated technology skills with student information systems and with computer-based programs such as Naviance and CareerCruising
-
Working knowledge of Response to Intervention strategies within general and special education
-
Working knowledge of Section 504 and its implementation in a school setting
-
Experience in using multiple data sources to help assess student progress and improve student performance
-
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
