One book, Two
towns, Three cups of tea.
This year's
summer reading program will look
a bit different compared to past years. All DSHS students grades
9 -12 and faculty will read the same book, Three Cups of Tea,
and participate in a small group discussion come September.
Through the generosity of a DSEF grant we're able to expand the
summer reading requirement into an expanded program including
guest speakers and curriculum projects related to particulars in
the different content areas. Honors and AP students will have
additional
summer reading requirements.
We're very
excited to include both Dover and Sherborn public libraries in
this exciting project. The citizens of both towns will have a
chance to read this dynamic book and discover that amazing things
can happen when one person decides to make a positive difference
in the lives of those in need.
Three Cups
of Tea can be purchased at the high school library for $15.00 and
will be sold through June 20th.

New Computer Blues
The good news is that you have a new computer. The bad news is
that you can’t open your files on the school computers that you created on your new
home computer. The most likely reason for this
is that your new computer runs Office 2007 while the DS network
runs Office 2002. Unfortunately, the files created using Office
2007 cannot be opened with Office 2002.
Don’t despair, there is a solution to this problem.
It’s possible to save files in Office 2007 programs in the
‘old’ Office file formats. For example, for a word document, on the new computer, just select
Word 97-2003 Document (*.doc) from the Save As Type
drop-down list in the Save As dialog box.
